New York has the Met Gala. Port Hope has the Goose Ball! The Goose Ball, hosted by Critical Mass Art, is Port Hope's quirkier take on the Met Gala. Instead of an exclusive gala, the Goose Ball democratizes the gala experience, inviting people of all ages and backgrounds to come together to showcase the creativity that makes up Northumberland’s runway. What to expect: A fun-filled evening celebrating creativity and inclusivity – an evening the whole family can enjoy! Featuring: a Community Runway Show & Costume Contest, with a celeb-worthy runway slo-mo ‘twirl Cam’ experience with Two Blue Shirts Productions, Drag Performances and runway tips from Northumberland Drag artists Babe, Oliver and Rocker, with Special Guest Vitality Black, Sky Mirage – an inflatable public art installation by Aaron Jones, live video game installation "The Space Between Us" by Jon Booth, a tinfoil hat construction zone and short order conspiracy theory generator, out of this world photo booths, nostalgic futuristic tunes spun by DJ Del, food & drink in the cosmic cantina featuring a pop up from Rey Rays Food Truck and the Bewdley Lions’ Food Truck, bubble tea from Boba Loka and cotton candy, and... a special Stargazing Experience by the Ontario Planetarium. Dressing up is encouraged, but it is not mandatory. Come as you are to the 3rd annual Goose Ball, or be as creative as you want to be. The Goose Ball is A Ball for us All.
